What is a Letter?
A letter is a written message conveyed from one person to another and we generally send it via Post.
The primary purpose of a letter is communication in written form.
There are two types of Letter :
- Formal Letter
The formal letter is written for business or professional purposes and it is written with a specific objective in mind.
It uses simple language, that can be easy to read and interpret.
Example: Letters that we write to Government departments or businesses - Informal Letter
The informal letter is written for personal communication.
It uses a casual or an emotional tone.
Example: Letters that we write to a friend or close family member
How to write a formal letter?
Format of Formal Letter :
- Sender’s Details.
- The date of writing a letter
- Reciever’s Details.
- Salutation
- Subject
- Body
- Complimentary Close and Signature
- Add Sender’s name, signature. designation when required.
